Growing up most of the meals in our house were easy things just put together from a box or a few cans thrown into a pan. Each meal was always coupled with applesauce and cottage cheese. As a young wife I fell into the same patterns as my family did. I justified it by, "no one has ever taught me how to cook so if I try new things I will fail". For a long time I did not want to try new things because I truly was afraid to fail. Little by little I experimented a more and more realized not only did I like to cook but I was getting pretty good at it.
Cooking became a part of my day that I looked forward to.As time went I realized there were things I still did not truly understand about cooking.I still did not completely understand that not only did food need to to taste good it also needed to nourish.A great friend of mine started teaching me how to cook to nourish and still get it to taste great. I am so thankful for the great friends God gives to teach me new things everyday.
